An Accurate Characterization Method for Integrated Polarization Converters

چکیده

We present a characterization method for polarization converters which improves the accuracy of traditional methods significantly. An experimental demonstration is presented on InP-membrane-on-silicon (IMOS) platform. The design and fabrication converter discussed, as well simulated conversion efficiency. A device only 4 microns shown to achieve 97.5%±0.5% conversion, corresponding an extinction ratio -16± 0.9 dB. compared new 4-port method, improved from up 20% 0.5%.

Unidirectional magnetooptic polarization converters

Abstract: Inclination of the bias magnetization in a magnetooptic waveguide yields both nonreciprocal phase shifts and polarization conversion. This enables the design of unidirectional polarization converters, i.e. waveguides that switch between orthogonal polarizations for one direction of light propagation, but keep the polarization state for light propagating in the opposite direction. Simu...

An Integrated Model for Accurate Shape Alignment

In this paper, we propose a two-level integrated model for accurate face shape alignment. At the low level, the shape is split into a set of line segments which serve as the nodes in the hidden layer of a Markov Network. At the high level, all the line segments are constrained by a global Gaussian point distribution model. Furthermore, those already accurately aligned points from the low level ...

An adaptive method for accurate sharing of harmonic and unbalanced loads in islanded microgrids

In this paper, a method is proposed for accurate sharing of harmonic and unbalanced loads in islanded microgrids. The proposed method can adaptively improve the load sharing among distributed generation (DG) units based on the circulating currents rules and harmonic and unbalanced powers provided by each DG. Compared with previous methods, the proposed method does not require a dedicated centra...

Modeling and Characterization of Power Electronic Converters with an Integrated Transmission-Line Filter

In this work, a modeling approach is delineated and described in detail; predominantly done in the time domain from low frequency, DC, to high frequencies, 100 MHz. Commercially available computer aided design tools will be used to determine the propagation path in a given structure. Next, an integrated transmission-line filter – fabricated using planar processing technologies – is modeled to a...

A Modified Histogram Approach for Accurate Self-characterization of Analog-to-digital Converters

A new approach for measuring the INL and DNL of an A/D Converter that uses histogram information is introduced. Unlike most existing algorithms, this method does not require the generation of accurate input signals so offers potential for use in a Built-in Self-Test (BIST) environment. Multiple inputs are presented to the device under test and the histograms obtained at the output are analyzed ...
